Man, 38, dead following overnight shooting in central Hamilton alleyway: Police

Hamilton Police are on the scene of a fatal overnight shooting Thursday (April 29) that took place in a central city alleyway.
Police were called to an alleyway located between Birch Avenue and Gibson Avenue near Cannon to reports of shots fired at around 10:30 Wednesday night.
A man was found injured in the area and then rushed to hospital where police say he later succumbed to his injuries.
The victim has not been identified but police said he was 38 years old.
Police said there are no suspects at this time and the Major Crimes Unit has been called in to investigate.
This is Hamilton’s 7th murder of 2021.

A large police presence is expected in the area Thursday as police work through the investigation by canvassing for witnesses and video surveillance.
