ROAD CLOSURES: Transport truck rollover could cause delays in Brampton

Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed at a busy shopping plaza in Brampton on Tuesday.

Peel Regional Police say officers were called to the area of Bramalea Road and Dewside Drive in Brampton shortly after 1 p.m. for reports of a shooting.

Investigators say multiple rounds were fired and that a man was found shot inside a vehicle at the Bramalea Business Centre.

A Peel police spokesperson told reporters that officers performed first-aid on the victim but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Few details have been released but police said the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident.

The victim has not been identified.

Investigators are on the scene and, while no road closures were in place, police blocked off the plaza and parking lot where the shooting happened and were speaking with shoppers to get information from witnesses.

Officers collected contact information from shoppers at the plaza and say investigators will be reaching out to everyone.

No suspect information or description has been released but police said it’s possible they are looking for more than one.

Anyone with information about this incident can contact Peel Regional Police by calling 905-453-3311. Anonymous tips may also be submitted to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or by visiting www.peelcrimestoppers.ca.
