One man faces charges after a shooting in a Niagara Falls hotel room.
Emergency crews responded to the shooting in the Queen Street and Zimmerman Avenue area of Niagara Falls on May 5, Niagara Regional Police said.
Police found a male with gunshot wounds. He was transported to an out-of-region hospital. It was later determined that the injuries were non-life-threatening, police said.
Police said a man fled the scene, shirtless, in a Blue SUV.
Detectives applied for and were granted a search warrant for the hotel room where the shooting occurred, police said. An imitation firearm and ammunition were seized.
A man was later found and arrested.
Jonathan Wade, 35, of Niagara Falls, is charged with assault with a weapon, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, discharging a firearm with intent, failing to comply with a release order, failing to comply with a probation order and disobeying a court order.
Wade is scheduled to attend a bail hearing Friday, May 8, in St. Catharines.
