Male attacked and shot while sleeping on church steps in Hamilton: Police

Officers are investigating a recent shooting in the area of James St S and Jackson St in Hamilton.

Police say a lone male victim was sleeping on the steps of St James Church when an unknown male suspect walked up to him and attacked him.

“During the attack the victim was shot in the shoulder,” said police.

It’s believed that the suspect fled the scene in a dark sedan. No further suspect description has been released at this time.

The victim is currently being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are continuing to investigate and search for the suspect in this attack.
