Brampton Reverse Tradeshow

The City of Brampton is hitting the showroom floor this month as the official Reverse Vendor Trade Show is taking place on May 23. According to an official statement from the city, the showcase provides Brampton-based organizations the opportunity for potential partnerships with city-run platforms.

The event is the joint effort of the city’s official purchasing team and the Brampton Entrepreneur Centre and intends to stimulate growth between city resources and the local private sector. According to city officials, this growth is already trending upwards, as 900 vendors have already signed on for this year’s trade show.

As indicated by top municipal powers, this is a welcome sight, as this is the first Reverse Vendor Trade Show since the pre-pandemic era.

“This event underscores our commitment to supporting local businesses and creating opportunities for growth and prosperity within our community, and we are delighted to welcome this event back after a five-year hiatus,” said Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown in an official statement.

According to an official release, the purchasing process sanctions the procurement of goods and services on behalf of the city. In essence, this event allows vendors to showcase their capabilities, and as a result, be purchased through an official bidding process conducted by municipal agencies.

Brampton representatives indicate that the city procures nearly $300-million worth of services from local vendors every year. Officials hope this year’s event will put the spotlight on local entrepreneurial talent that can serve their community in a longstanding way.
