King St. E., will shut down to vehicular traffic on June 18, as it opens up for residents to walk, cycle, or simply enjoy the emptiness of the traffic- free road.

‘Open Streets,’ is back in Hamilton- transforming the  3.6 kilometer stretch from from John St. to Gage Ave., into an additional public space.

The street closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. to ensure proper setup and dismantling.

“The event aims to create a safe and welcoming environment for people of all ages and abilities to come together and celebrate community spirit,” the City of Hamilton said, highlighting the importance of physical activity and outdoor recreation.

To ensure smooth traffic flow and safety for all participants, signalized intersections along King St. E., will allow cars to cross at designated points. These intersections include Gage Ave., Victoria Ave., Wellington St., and more.
