Major road will be closed as Hamilton gears up for annual race event

Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) is asking commuters to beware of the an upcoming closure at Jerseyville Rd., tonight (June 6).

The temporary closure will be placed at the section of Jerseyville Rd. between Shaver and Meadowbrook to accommodate the highly anticipated Old Mill Race event. The closure will be in effect from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., ensuring the safety and smooth flow of the race participants.

For people traveling westbound on Route 16 Ancaster, a detour will be in place via Morwick. While eastbound buses operating on this route will remain unaffected by the closure.

As a result, motorists are advised to plan their travel accordingly and consider alternative routes during this time frame. Authorities said that it is crucial for drivers to follow the designated detour signs and instructions provided by traffic personnel.
