Lanes of a major road through northern Brampton have been shuttered to allow a police investigation in the area.

Peel Regional Police announced shortly after 6 p.m. on December 28. Police received a 911 call shortly after 5 p.m. However, they did not share the nature of the investigation, only that they had closed parts of Torbram Rd. and Bovaird Dr.

They said the southbound turning lane on Torbram Rd. and the westbound lane on Bovaird Dr. had been closed. The corner is home to a suburban housing block and considerable green space as is much of the area.

Update 9 p.m.: Police have reopened the entirety of the roadway. There have still not commented on the nature of their investigation

This story will be updated with further developments.
