Major Road Closures Planned for Mississauga This Weekend

Although the weather has been, in a word, horrific, the show must go on.

What show is that, you ask?

The Mississauga Marathon, of course.

The annual two-day event is kicking off on Saturday, May 6 and running until Sunday, May 7. According to the marathon’s website, the following road closures will be in effect on May 6:

5:00pm to 6:30pm: Front St N from Lakeshore Rd to High St W

5:30pm to 6:30pm: Stavebank Rd S from Lakeshore Rd to Port St E

Knareswood Dr Comanche Rd, Arrowhead Rd, & Temagami Cres traffic will be permitted to go north on Mississauga Rd & MUST go north towards the QEW (Toronto) and enter the highway. They will not have access back to the streets above from Mississauga Rd.

It’s also important to note that the Sikh Spiritual Centre will be holding its annual Khalsa Day Parade. That event will commence in Mississauga at 1:00 p.m. and finish off in Toronto, so locals can expect closures and/or significant delays on eastbound Morning Star Drive beginning at 1:00 p.m..
