Major road closure starts next week in Niagara-on-the-Lake

A major road will be closed for several months in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
The westbound lanes of Portage Road (Regional Road 61) will be closed at Niagara River Parkway in Niagara-on-the-Lake from Tuesday, Sept. 5 from 7 a.m.
The closure, for road rehabilitation, is expected to last the rest of the year until Sunday, Dec. 31 at 7 p.m., according to a post on Niagara Region.
Drivers will be detoured off Highway 405 to York Road then Four Mile Creek Road, and then Niagara Townline Road.
Emergency services will have access during the closure.
