Major power outage hits over 3,000 homes and businesses in Mississauga

A power outage is in effect in Mississauga this afternoon (Dec. 26), Alectra reported shortly after 1:00 p.m.
Approximately 3,479 homes and businesses are affected in the Hwy 403 to Mavis Rd area.
Police have received reports of traffic signals out at several intersections, including Mavis/Burnhamthorpe, Mavis/Rathburn, and Burnhamthorpe/Confederation.
Drivers are asked to treat these intersections as an all-way stop or follow instructions from the officer directing traffic.
A crew has been dispatched to make repairs.
Power is estimated to return by 5:30 p.m.
