As Niagara Falls’ largest arena and meeting spot, the MacBain Community Centre unfortunately collects the biggest stash of garbage in and around its property.

To that end, the city’s Environmental Action Committee is kicking a clean-up into full gear this Saturday (Oct. 28) from 10 a.m. to noon and they could use a little help.

During the two-hour clean-up activity, residents will collect debris from municipal parks, trails, and boulevards.

“This is a great opportunity for students to acquire community service hours and also for families and co-workers to collectively make an effort to help clean up debris from problematic areas in the City,” said the committee.

The committee says volunteers will be given gloves, a safety vest (if required), garbage bags, and pickers (limited).

“All volunteers are requested to register online before the event, however, walk-ins on the day of the event are welcome.”
