Major Mississauga roads closed amid police investigation

A major intersection in Port Credit has been shuttered amid an unspecified police investigation.

Peel Regional Police announced the closure shortly before 4 p.m on Jan. 30. They said Port St. had been closed between Elizabeth St. and Stavebank Rd. Additionally, Elizabeth St. was closed from Lakeshore Rd. to Port St.

More than two hours later, around 6 p.m, police confirmed one man had been taken to hospital for “medical care and assistance.” They did not share the nature or extent of his injuries.

They have also not shared the nature of their investigation.
