A female pedestrian was struck at a major intersection in Mississauga on Monday night, leading to a call for motorists to use alternative routes in order to avoid the closed intersection.
Peel Regional Police conveyed that they learned at 7:21 p.m. that a motorist struck a female at Dixie Rd. and Burnhamthorpe Rd., forcing the closure as they investigate the circumstances of the collision.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene, which is required by Ontario law.
The female who was hit was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, which is usually indicative of non-life-threatening injuries.
