Major department store at Square One temporarily closed in Mississauga

Shoppers at Square One looking to snag summer outfits from this popular clothing store over the Victoria Day long weekend will have to head over to another location.

The Hudson’s Bay Company, a well-known retailer of clothing, accessories and household items, has temporarily closed its store in the Mississauga shopping centre.

A sign posted outside the store read, ‘Store is temporarily closed due to a systems failure.’

The message didn’t specify the nature of the ‘systems failure,’ but it likely refers to issues affecting their computers, POS (point-of-sale) systems, and cash registers.

The message concluded by thanking customers for their cooperation and directing them to either the nearest store at Erin Mills Town Centre, 5100 Erin Mills Parkway, or to shop online at thebay.com.

The store did not include an ETA as to when they will reopen for in-person shopping.
