Major Collision Closes Part of QEW

If you plan on driving west on the QEW, you might want to pick an alternate route.
The OPP reports that the Fort Erie-bound QEW is closed at the 427, just east of Dixie Road. Westbound Gardiner traffic is being diverted off at the 427/Brown’s Line.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said the closure is due to clean up following a collision that occurred earlier this morning. During the crash, a tanker truck lost a saddle tank of diesel and the subsequent spill made the highway “very slick.”
Four vehicles were involved.
No injuries have been reported.
