Major bookstore Cole's is closing in Oakville Place next week

A well-known bookstore inside Oakville Place is closing next week.

Book lovers, especially locals, will be saddened by the upcoming closure of the Coles bookstore at 240 Leighland Ave, Unit #244.

The news of Coles shutting down surfaced after a recent Reddit post in which a user mentioned receiving an email notification from the company, along with its last day of operations.

Comments flooded in from other Redditors expressing disbelief. “That sucks, is there a date given?” one user asked.

An employee at the Coles store in Oakville told insauga.com that the establishment is scheduled to close its doors a week from today— Saturday, March 9.

Another Reddit user voiced concerns about the abrupt closure, expressing worries for the employees at the location and hoping they will not lose their jobs.

“Oh wow, that’s really close. I hope the people working there can transfer over to the Indigo Spirit. Would hate to see more people lose their jobs.”

The company has not provided any explanation for its decision to close.

Oakville residents in search of new reads or the latest releases may need to venture to the nearest Indigo Spirit at 485 Trafalgar Road.
