Major changes coming to Brampton transit routes this summer

Summer Transit Changes Brampton 2024

According to city officials, some major changes are expected to hit Brampton at the end of this month, as on June 24, Brampton Transit will be applying some major route changes to help people in the city get around more efficiently for the summer season. 

Anticipated changes for Brampton’s public transit are as follows: 

501C Züm Queen  

  • Route 501C Züm Queen service to York University from Highway 407 will be removed, and as a result, only Route 501 service on Highway 7 via the York Region Transit (YRT) Rapidway to SmartVMC Terminal at Vaughan Metropolitan Centre will remain in operation

501 Züm Queen  

  • The frequency for midday services will be increased to 10 min  
  • The frequency for Sunday day services will be increased to 20 min  
  • Sunday night service increased to 20 minutes frequency threshold

1 Queen  

  • The frequency for Saturday day services will be increased to 15 min 
  • The frequency for Saturday night services will be increased to 20 min  
  • Frequency increased for Sunday days will be increased to 20 min  
  • Sunday evening service frequency will be increased to 20 min 

3/3A McLaughlin 

  • Day services on Sunday will see a frequency increase of 26 min  
  • Night services on Sunday will also have their frequency increased to 26 min 

4/4A Chinguacousy 

  •   Midday services on weekdays will see frequencies increased to 10 min  
  •   Early evening services will see frequencies increased to 12 min  
  •   Day services on Saturday will have frequencies increased to 12/15 min  
  •   Day services on Sundays will see frequencies increased to 15 min  
  •   Night services on Sundays will see frequencies increased to 15 min 

6 James Potter 

  • AM/PM peak services will see  frequencies increased to 20 min  
  • Midday service frequency will be boosted to 22 min  
  • Standard evening service frequencies will be boosted to 25 min  
  • Route realigned via Edwards Boulevard, as a result, it will not be servicing the intersection of Topflight Drive and Hurontario St. 

9 Vodden 

  • AM/PM peak service on weekdays will see frequencies increased to 30 min  
  • Midday services on weekdays will see frequencies boosted to 40 min

14/14A Torbram 

  •  Day service frequency on Saturdays will see a boost of 15/20 min  
  •  Saturday evening service frequency will be boosted to 20 min  
  •  Sunday day service frequency will be boosted  to 20 min 

15 Bramalea 

  • Midday services for weekdays will see a frequency boost of 16 min  
  • Early evening services will see a frequency boost of 16 min 

26 Mount Pleasant Realignment 

  • The route is set to be realigned along Clockwork Drive, and as a result, will not service Mayfield Road between Creditview Road and Chinguacousy Road 

28 Wanless 

  •  Weekday morning services will be starting at 5:45 am 

30 Airport Road 

  • Midday services on weekdays will see a frequency boost of 15 min  
  • Evening services on weekdays will see a frequency boost of 15/20 min  
  • Day services on Saturdays will see frequencies increased to 15 min  
  • Early evening services on Saturdays will see frequencies increased to 15 min  
  • Sunday day service frequency will be increased by 20 min  

31 McVean 

  • Weekday, Saturday and Sunday schedule adjustments are anticipated for late June 

50/50A Gore Road 

  •  AM peak service frequency on weekdays will be increased to 12 minutes for the 50 
  •  PM peak service frequency on weekdays will be increased to 13 minutes for the 50
  • Late evening service frequency increased to 30 min for the 50 
  • Weekday AM peak service will see a frequency boost to 24 minutes for the 50A
  • Midday weekday services will see a frequency boost of 32 minutes for the 50A
  • Weekday evening peak service frequency will be increased to 26 minutes for the 50A
  • Weekday night service frequency increased to 30 minutes for the 50A

60 Mississauga Road 

  • Peak services will be increased to 26 minutes for AM/PM, weekdays and weekends
  • Saturday day and evening service will see a frequency boost of 35 min  
  • Saturday morning service starting at 7:00 am as of late June 

104 Chinguacousy Express 

  • New midday weekday services will see a frequency boost of 20 min 

School Specials 

  • Routes 200-218 School Specials and School Extras have been canceled for the summer — services are slated to resume in September 
  • Summer School trips have integrated into routes 4/4A, 6, 9, 12, 29, 36, 50, 52
