A section of a major street in Brampton was closed due to an alleged impaired-driving crash.

At 8:08 p.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 28), Peel Regional Police learned of a single-vehicle crash into a hydro pole in the vicinity of Airport Road and Queen Street. Hydro wires were pulled down, resulting in road closures in both directions on Queen Street. Drivers were advised to take alternate routes.

The man who was driving the vehicle is in custody on suspicion of impaired driving.

The Peel police reported that Queen Street was fully reopened by 11:30 p.m., some three hours after the collision was reported.
