Burlington road street construction delays traffic detour

The upcoming closure of the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway (LINC) has been pushed back due to rain.

On Thursday (May 26), the City of Hamilton said both directions of the LINC will close Friday morning at 10 a.m. and will remain closed until Monday.

The westbound lanes will reopen at 4 a.m. on Monday and eastbound by 7 p.m. the same day.

Closures were scheduled to get underway on Thursday.

The City said the nature of the maintenance work on the LINC requires dry conditions and should not be completed in the rain.

Friday’s forecast, however, also contains a significant chance of rain and thundershowers throughout the day which may push the project’s timeline even further out.

More information on the maintenance project, including the most up-to-date timelines can be found on the City’s website.
