The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and YWCA are teaming up in the form of a Made in the Hammer toque in support of The Putman Family.

The Canadian Football League’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats and YWCA Hamilton have teamed up on a new toque.

Nearly half of the proceeds from toque sales will go towards the YWCA’s #WomenBuildHamilton campaign, which supports The Putman Family residence.

The Putman Family YWCA, located at 52 Ottawa St. North, is Hamilton’s first affordable permanent housing building for single and mother-led families. Fifty units across more than 7,500 square feet have been created to support three priority populations: women living with a developmental disability, Indigenous women and families, and women and their children rebuilding their lives after experiences of homelessness and violence.

The residence includes private units, a community garden, an innovation centre, a recreation centre, health and wellness programs, and community-led workshops. There is also informed support and programming to help residents recover from trauma and housing instability.

The Made in the Hammer toque can be purchased online or in-store at the Tiger-Cats Shop for $35.

Through Feb. 10, 2023, $15 from each toque sold will be donated to the YWCA.
