Machete attack leaves Oshawa man injured, suspect in custody

A machete attack in downtown Oshawa sent an Oshawa man to hospital with serious injuries yesterday.

The man was attacked by Bond and Simcoe streets. around 3 p.m. June 7. Durham Regional Police found the victim suffering non-lethal stab wounds. Paramedics rushed the man to Lakeridge Health Oshawa while police searched for the attacker.

A suspect had fled the scene following the attack and hid out in a nearby apartment. Police surrounded the place and managed to arrest the suspect without issue.

Duane Fedee, 44 of Oshawa, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a dangerous weapon.

The victim is recovering.
