Mac and cheese festival, roller-skate party to hit Mississauga this weekend

Award-winning chefs will present their mac and cheese creations, desserts and other popular comfort food during a two-day festival this weekend in Mississauga. The festival will happen alongside a roller-skate party.

The Mac and Cheese Festival by Street Eats Market and Halloweekend Rollerskate will be on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 29 from noon to 7 p.m. at Celebration Square (300 City Centre Dr.).

The festival will be from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday and from noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Roller-skate rentals are available during those times.

People will also have a chance to play games, dress up in costumes and skate during the live DJ Halloween party on the roller rink. The DJ party is from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and 3:30 to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Tim Burton’s film Corpse Bride will be shown on the big screens on both afternoons at 2. On Saturday morning from 11 to 11:45, children aged three to 10 can be part of a special spooky and silly edition of Open Air Storytime by Mississauga Library.

Admission is free. An Instagram Costume Contest offers a chance to win a $100 Square One gift card.
