A Brampton man plans to take his wife on the trip of her dreams after winning $1 million on Lotto 6/49.
Dhanraj Bhuruth bought his ticket from the Petro Canada on Weston Rd. in Toronto ahead of the Nov. 11 draw. He has been playing the lotto for the last ten years. He always gets LOTTO 6/49, LOTTO MAX and ENCORE. He plays his own numbers that are significant to him and his family.
“I saw the Big Winner screen appear and I had to scan it again, it was so unbelievable,” he told the OLG, “I scanned it for a third time and took a photo of the screen. I still couldn’t accept it was real.”
Bhuruth pulled his family into the store to show them, “I told them I needed to show them something, and I was laughing. My wife was wondering what was going on – she didn’t believe it at first. My children said, ‘Yes it’s true!’”
He’s going to pay down his mortgage and take his wife on vacation with his winnings.
