Steven Kirlin instantly knew we was an instant winner playing Instant Triple Millions. Now there will be a lucky dog in his life.

Kirlin, 47, of Burlington, won the $3 million prize when he picked up the ticket at Shell Select on Walkers Line.

Kirlin said he is going to be careful not to indulge in material goods with his new found fortune. His plans are simple and cuddly.

“The one thing I want the most is a dog – I can’t wait to get a puppy.” He said. “Together we will have a wonderful life as millionaires!”

A regular lottery player of mostly instant games, Kirlin said he had a good feeling this time when he made the purchase.

“This ticket was one I randomly grabbed,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his cheque. “I played at the lottery kiosk in the store because it was raining. When I started to reveal the games, I had a feeling it was a winner.”

Kirlin said when he scanned his ticket and realized it was a winner, his brain went into a fog. “I put my hands on my knees and tried to take a deep breath. The clerk asked me if I was okay and I told him I just won $3 million!”

He said the moment was surreal. “It felt like a scene from a movie.”
