Lottery winner has a $100K secret to share with family in Brampton

It’s bound to be a big surprise when Brampton retiree Maxima Jasa reveals to friends she has a $100,000 secret after a big lottery win.

Jasa has been playing OLG lottery games for the past 30 years including Lotto 6/49, Lotto Max, and Ontario 49.

The mother of one from Brampton says she uses the Quick Pick feature adding the Encore to her tickets, and just won a $100,000 prize but has yet to tell anyone.

“I wanted to wait until the cheque was in my hands,” Jasa said while picking up her winnings at the OLG prize centre in Toronto. “I plan to do a huge reveal and surprise my family and friends. This experience has been very exciting.”

The $100,000 prize is Jasa’s first big win, saying her “mind went blank” when cashing in the ticket.

“I thought to myself, ‘This can’t be real.’ It was a feeling that’s hard to explain,” she said.

Jasa says she plans to spend the money to pay off some bills and share with her siblings.

Encore offers 22 ways to win and can be played in conjunction with most lottery games for an extra $1. The OLG says it supports safe play and responsible gambling through its PlaySmart program.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shell on Drinkwater Road in Brampton.
