Suvasit Tanna, a 34-year-old mother from Brampton, won $500,000 in the June 15 Lotto Max draw.

Tanna shared the $1 million Maxmillions prize with another ticket.

“I was getting ready one morning when my husband asked me if I checked my ticket because he heard there were so many winners across Ontario,” she told OLG staff when she picked up her winnings in Toronto.

“When I saw my numbers matching the winning ones, I told my husband, ‘I think we won!'”

Tanna works in the health industry and said she is an occasional lottery player, only playing when the jackpots are high.

She said she plans to make smart investments with her windfall and will plan a family trip to relax and enjoy some beach fun.

“This win is a bright spot in the crazy year and a half everyone has had.”
