A Brampton man and two former co-workers are celebrating a $94,000 lottery win that’s over two decades in the making.

Kiplyn Mckinson lives in Brampton and has been playing the lottery along with former co-workers Antonio Lanzillotta and Kenneth Dolbel for over 25 years.

After decades playing the lottery, Mckinson said he made a double-take when checking the group’s ticket for the Feb. 17 Lotto Max draw.

“I looked at the screen and thought we won $94 – but when I took a closer look I realized we won $94,468,” Mckinson said while picking up the winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

He sent a picture of the winning ticket to Lanzillotta, who thought the win was a joke until checking the numbers himself online.

Dolbel said he put $2 into the group’s pool every week but never expected to win.

Mckinson said plans to use the win to complete some home renovations, while Lanzillotta will share his win with his children and do some home renovations and Dolbel plans to share the win with his children and get a new TV for his basement.

OLG supports safe play and promotes responsible gambling with its PlaySmart program. Lotto Max players in Ontario have won over $7.6 billion since 2009. Lotto Max is $5 per play and draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The winning ticket was purchased at Quick Pick Convenience on Sandalwood Pkwy. in Brampton.
