Lost package text scam hits southern Ontario

A text message scam claiming to have lost the recipients package is making the rounds in Mississauga.

The text claims thei is an issue with the recipient’s package which must be resolved or it was be sent back to the shipper.

It does not provide any details on the contents of the package or a shipping number but instruct the recipient to a fraudulent website.

Experts call this a “smishing” scam which should be ignored.
