Starting and growing a business can be incredibly difficult, especially in an increasingly competitive city like Brampton or Mississauga — which is why, for those who are struggling to get their startup off the ground, Altitude Accelerator is more than ready to help.

Altitude Accelerator – the newly rebranded incubator formerly known as the RIC Centre – was one of the first players in the startup and innovation ecosystem in Peel, and is dedicated to helping entrepreneurs in Brampton, Caledon, Mississauga and other communities in southern Ontario scale to new heights.

Andy Hoang, founder of Aviron Interactive

Located in Brampton and with over 13 years of experience working with tech companies such as Aviron Interactive and Li-Cycle, they know what each one needs to succeed: Strong connections, access to seed funding, and the support and perseverance needed to keep going.

Aviron Interactive joined the incubator in 2017 at the company’s inception and worked closely with expert advisors to establish a pricing and marketing strategy. The company raised $4.5 million earlier this year to continue growing their gamified rowing business.

Another Altitude client — Li-Cycle, the leading lithium-ion battery recycler in North America — first came to Altitude Accelerator as a client in 2017. Using Altitude’s vast network of industry experts, co-founders Ajay Kochhar and Tim Johnston were introduced to a wide range of professionals and investors, leading them to closing a significant round of investment in 2018.

The not-for-profit innovation hub and incubator helps tech entrepreneurs overcome growth challenges and succeed through a variety of programs and business mentorship.

Programs include:

  • Incubator Program: Designed for high-potential tech startups in market and looking to grow their marketing and sales. Clients get access to top-tier mentors and advisors, expert-led workshops, founder peer-to-peer networking and more.
  • RevUP: A one-month accelerator program for entrepreneurs who have a great idea for a new business but need help kickstarting their entrepreneurial journey. The program uses a combination of workshops, coaching calls and peer-to-peer sessions.
  • MVP to Market: A three-month program ideal for entrepreneurs that have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and want to get to their first sale. Born out of the COVID-19 crisis, the program focuses on business model development and marketing strategy to help you get to revenue faster.
