A local organization recently raised $100,000 which will help support charities in Milton and Halton Hills.

Earlier this month, Community Foundation Halton North (CFHN) celebrated its 10th anniversary along with the Milton and Halton Hills communities and nine local charities.

The celebration was a hybrid event that combined CFHN’s physical presence at the Milton and Georgetown Farmers’ Markets, at the new home of CFHN and online through its first-ever webathon that lasted a total of 10 hours.

“A huge thanks to all the sponsors of the #CFHNwebathon2021. Your support was crucial to make this event a real success,” said CFHN on Twitter following the event.

The event also featured various fun activities that offered an opportunity to learn about the philanthropic sector in Halton North, while also helping CFHN reach their goal of raising $100,000; $10,000 for each participating institution.

The webathon also included various interviews and videos that discussed the work of CFHN, local participating charities and sponsors as well as the importance of these efforts within the community.

Participating charities included the Halton Learning Foundation, Community Living North Halton, ROCK, Links2Care, Milton District Hospital Foundation, Townsend Smith Foundation, Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton, ArtSpark through the Town of Milton, Halton Hills Library and CFHN Unrestricted Fund.
