A local fundraiser that is being hosted in Burlington is aiming to give away 100 new bikes, helmets and locks to children in need ahead of the holiday season.

The fundraiser, called Bikes for Kids, strives to give a local child entrusted to Children’s Aid a new bike or gift for Christmas.

According to their website, 2022 marks the 17th year of the Bikes for Kids program by PACEperformance, a training, event management and fitness consulting firm.

The program was created by Greg Pace, the owner of PACEperformance, in hopes of providing youth that might not otherwise receive a gift, a new bike for Christmas.

Through a partnership with the Halton Children’s Aid and Canadian Tire (Fairview St., Burlington), Bikes for Kids has provided over 1,000 children with this gift.

Their goal for 2022 is to give away a total of 100 new bicycles, helmets and locks and raise $32,998. So far, they have raised $9,588.

Monetary donations are currently being accepted on their website.

Donations may also be sent to PACEperformance, located at 483 Bridgman Ave. in Burlington.
