A local theatre company is looking for Mississauga and Brampton actors to help bring the Bard to Brampton this summer.

Louie the Goat Productions is holding a casting call for a production of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night planned for this summer in Brampton.

The production is the second instalment of the Brampton’s Own Shakespeare Show series and will have three outdoor stages touring around Brampton this July and August. The show is a non-union production but does come with a $1,000 paid rate for performers.

A complicated story of love and trickery, Twelfth Night follows the story of shipwrecked twins Viola and Sebastian and is one of Shakespeare’s most celebrated comedies.

“With twists, turns, that special pizazz from Louie The Goat Productions and a cast of local actors, this is a pay-what-you-can summer theatre experience for the whole family,” a description of the show reads.

Local actors are being encouraged to apply with a headshot, resume, character preference, and audition time availability to [email protected]. The deadline to apply is April 10 with auditions on April 15 and 16.

The production company says preference will be given to artists who live in or have a personal connection to Brampton or the Region of Peel and actors should expect six weeks of in-person rehearsal on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings and a three-weekend run.

The show will run from July 20 to Aug. 5 in Chinguacousy Park, Mount Pleasant Square, and Ken Whillans Square on alternating days.
