Has this happened to you: You take an hour and finish your grocery shopping and push your cart to the checkout to wait ten minutes , only to be told that the store’s payment systems are down and you need to pay with cash?

It’s happened to hundreds of Loblaws customers in Mississauga, and they’re not too happy about it.

John, who frequently shops at the Glen Erin and Eglinton location, says he’s recently encountered the same problem multiple times at that store.

“Several times in the last month is an issue,” said John, who also complained that their ATM was down for 30 minutes when he tried to withdraw cash.

Other customers have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment to Loblaws directly.

While the store has acknowledged the issue, there doesn’t appear to be a solution just yet to their debit and credit systems going down at a moment’s notice.
