Loaded gun, outstanding warrants leads to pair of arrests after Oshawa traffic stop

A loaded gun, drugs and outstanding warrants have two Durham residents in custody after a traffic stop in Oshawa Sunday night.

Central East officers stopped a car near Taunton and Ritson roads just after 5 p.m. and subsequently arrested a 23 year-old Oshawa man and a 22 year-old Ajax woman on outstanding warrants. A search of the vehicle discovered the loaded firearm, 13 grams of cocaine, 45 grams of GHB and five-and-a-half ounces of cannabis.

Draylon Taylor of Oshawa and Sydney White of Ajax are facing nine charges which include possession of prohibited firearm, occupy motor vehicle with a firearm, possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine) and possession of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.

Both suspects were held for a bail hearing.
