Loaded gun and taser found in Vaughan traffic stop, Brampton woman charged: police

Police have laid over a dozen combined charges against a Brampton woman and a man from Quebec after allegedly finding a loaded handgun and taser during a traffic stop.

Shortly before 9:00 a.m. on Friday (March 24), York Regional Police say an officer was on patrol near Blue Willow Dr. and Matthew Dr. in Vaughan when they pulled over a black Dodge RAM truck.

Police say there were two people inside the truck and that the male driver refused to identify himself. The driver was arrested and police searched the vehicle, saying a loaded handgun and a conducted energy device, commonly known as a taser, were found.

York Regional Police say Trey Marong, 30, of Laval, Quebec, and Alexis Wilson, 24, of Brampton have been charged with 17 combined criminal offences including:

  • Personation with Intent to Avoid Arrest
  • Prosecution or Obstruction of Justice
  • Breach of Probation
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Careless Storage of Firearm
