Loaded gun and drugs seized in Brampton raid, man and woman face over a dozen combined charges

A man and a woman from Brampton are facing over a dozen combined charges after police found a loaded gun and drugs during a search last week.

Peel Regional Police say investigators and members of the PRP Tactical Unit searched a residence and a vehicle near Arrowview Drive and Donald Ficht Crescent in Brampton on Saturday (Sept. 9).

Police say officers recovered a loaded Glock 26 Gen4 compact handgun, ammunition, and an undisclosed quantity of drugs.

A 32-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman from Brampton were both arrested and charged with firearm-related offences.

Jonathan Chin, 32, and Chanel McDonald, 31, both of Brampton, have been charged with multiple offences including possession of prohibited firearm with ammo, tampering with serial number and possession of a prohibited device.

The accused were both held for bail hearings and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
