Brampton NXNE Festival 2024

The City of Brampton, in partnership with the Brampton Arts Organization (BAO), is gearing up for a major event, as the seventh edition of the This Is Brampton Showcase is set to be launched in tandem with the upcoming North By Northeast (NXNE) Music Festival next month.

According to an official press release, the local artists set to be featured this year are folk singer Leah Holtom, alt-pop supergroup Madame Psychosis, the dynamic soul trio of Not Jonas and the Jazz-fusion lineup ToneFusion.

“As a musician and Regional Councillor for Brampton, I am thrilled to support initiatives like this that shine a spotlight on the vibrant talent within our community. Congratulations to all the featured artists, and we look forward to celebrating their success at this year’s showcase, said Brampton Chair of Community Services Rowena Santos in an official statement.

In an official announcement to the public, Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown relayed the importance of putting local talent in the spotlight while also celebrating the overall artistry of Brampton by stating,

“This event highlights the incredible musical talent our city has to offer and underscores the importance of supporting and celebrating local arts and culture. We invite everyone to join us for an unforgettable evening of music, community and creativity.”

As for the location of the upcoming showcase, the handpicked crop of Brampton artists are moving away from their home turf and are taking the Underground stage at the Drake Hotel in Toronto.

The event is slated for June 12 at 8 pm, and according to municipal representatives, tickets are available now.
