brampton man wins lottery twice $50,000

A Brampton man has beat the odds twice, winning his second $50,000 lottery prize.

Bernard Johnson is a 68-year-old retiree from Brampton who says he’s been playing the lottery since the ‘70s using the same numbers.

The combination of digits must be good luck as the father of two and grandfather of 12 has taken home his second $50,000 win playing Daily Keno.

“I saw I won big, and I felt good,” Johnson said while picking up his prize in Toronto. “I was pretty calm because I had won this amount previously.”

Bernard said his wife was the first to hear the good news, and the family is planning to put the prize money into savings until they can decide how to spend their winnings.

“I just purchased a new car, so this came at a good time,” he said.

Daily Keno players pick their strategy and their bet of$1, $2, $5 or $10 to pick their prize. The OLG says it supports safe play and responsible gambling through its PlaySmart program.

The winning ticket was purchased at Petro Canada on Dixie Road in Brampton.
