A person is fighting for their life after a stabbing inside a home in one of Mississauga’s most exclusive neighbourhoods on Friday afternoon.
Peel Regional Police were called to the area of Indian Road and Indian Grove in Lorne Park shortly after 3 p.m. on July 17 following reports of an altercation inside a residence.
When officers arrived, they located one person suffering from stab wounds. The victim was transported to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.
Police said one person has been taken into custody and investigators believe the incident was isolated, involving only the victim and the suspect. No threat to public safety has been identified.
The investigation forced the closure of Indian Grove as officers remained on scene gathering evidence. Motorists and residents were being redirected around the area while investigators examined the property.
Although Peel police have not released details about what led to the altercation or the relationship between those involved, investigators have indicated there are no outstanding suspects.
The stabbing occurred in Lorne Park, a neighbourhood known for its tree-lined streets, large estate homes and relatively low levels of violent crime compared with other parts of the city. Detached homes in the area routinely sell for well over $2 million, making it one of Mississauga’s most sought-after residential communities.
One person who commented on social media said they were “shocked” that such an incident occurred in the area.
Violent incidents can occur anywhere, however. Peel Regional Police data shows there have been 1,665 assault-related incidents reported across Mississauga so far in 2026. Despite those figures, Friday’s stabbing appears to be the first assault recorded in the immediate Indian Road and Indian Grove area this year.
Police have not yet announced any charges or released information about the identities of those involved. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could assist investigators is asked to contact Peel Regional Police.
