Library celebrates 25 years with free event in Mississauga

A Mississauga library will celebrate 25 years with a free community event.

The South Common Library at 2233 South Millway in Mississauga will host a free event on Saturday (Dec. 2).

The library opened in 1983 but in 1998, moved to the new South Common Community Centre on South Millway.

The celebration on Saturday will include special guests reading stories, a sing-along with a princess and a chance to try some superhero moves. There will also be sweet treats.

The event starts at 11 a.m. There will be a ceremony at 12 p.m. with Acting Mayor and Ward 4 Councillor, John Kovac, Ward 8 Councillor Matt Mahoney, dignitaries and special guests.

At 12:30 p.m. the live entertainment and programming continues. The event wraps up at 2 p.m.
