Sam Attwill liked the odds so he went for it.

The result is the Oakville resident is now $100,000 richer.

Attwill won the prize in the Jan. 9 draw of Merry Millions.

“The retailer explained the game to me and after looking at the odds, I decided to buy a ticket,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.

He said he has been a regular lottery player since the 1980s.

“When I checked my ticket after the draw and saw I won, I was very happy! I knew I had a good feeling about this game.”

Sam hasn’t made any plans for his winnings yet.

Merry Millions was a limited-time OLG lottery game that was available for $20 from Nov. 21, 2023, to Jan. 9, 2024, featuring three $1 million guaranteed top prizes, three $50,000 early bird prizes, plus 402 additional prizes between $1,000 and $250,000.

The winning ticket was purchased at Esso on Wilson Street in Jerseyville.
