Summer isn’t over yet – the weather is beautiful, the sun is shining, and there’s a huge event set to hit downtown Brampton this week!

Food, dancing, live entertainment, and even a fashion show are all lined up for the final Party in the LANES event this summer on Friday August 17, 2018, starting at 6 p.m.

This massive street party is taking over downtown Brampton all night. So, if you weren’t sure where to spend your Friday night, George Street, McArter Lane, Daily Times Square, and Garden Square are the places to be.

“This is the final laneway party of the summer so we’re making it bigger than ever with more bands, a bigger kids zone and more vendors!” said Andrea Magana, Marketing and Events Specialist, Downtown Brampton BIA.

“Attendees can expect delicious food from a variety cultures, and some unique one-of-a-kind vendors located in our downtown core. Each lane will have somewhere to grab a bite to eat and do a bit of shopping! However, the best part of this event will be the bands who will keep you on your feet dancing all night!”

It’s true that the party is going to be epic, complete with Latin and Jazz music, belly dancing, rock bands, Bhangra dancing, tons of food, and more.

What’s happening all night?

Four awesome parties in different locations across the downtown core.

Latin, Jazz, and Bhangra are taking over George Street from 7-11 p.m.

More specifically, Jazz Latin trio Caramelo Son, a fun Bachata swing band, belly dancer Natalie Zara, and Flower City Bhangra will be entertaining the crowd with tunes and dance moves to get your feet tapping and your body moving. Of course, everyone’s going to be dancing!

McArter Lane is going to be incredibly lively with the Rock On party from 6-10 p.m.

Over on McArter Lane, you’ll find live entertainment by the James Anthony band at 6 p.m., a fashion show with Restyle Consignment around 7:45 p.m., and even more live entertainment by the Stacey Renee band at 8:15 p.m.

At Daily Times Square, you can expect a fun Kids Zone from 6-9:30 p.m., complete with free face painting, the Brampton Beast Mascot Boomer, a craft station with Beaux-Arts Brampton, a caricaturist, and even photo booth presented by Polaris Dental so you can capture memories of your night.

And there’s a bonus party happening at Garden Square – it’s the Friday Night Live series with a live performance by Freedom Train at 8 p.m., hosted by inBrampton.com and Brampton Says.

For anyone who hasn’t come out to a Party in the LANES event before, and anyone coming out to party again, this is your last chance to experience the awesome street festival this summer!

If you’re wondering who’s behind the final street party, Party in the LANES would not be possible without the generous support of sponsors, including the City of Brampton, Brampton North Nissan, and Performance Honda Mayfield.

“Be sure to clear your Friday night for the Downtown Brampton Party in the LANES on August 17th!” said Suzy Godefroy, Executive Director of the Downtown Brampton BIA.
