A large tree fell across a major road in Mississauga on Canada Day.
The tree fell across Hurontario Street in Port Credit at approximately 5:45 p.m. on July 1, Peel Regional Police said on X.
The roadway was closed from Park Street to Lakeshore Road but has since reopened, police said.
No injuries were reported.
Wind gusts of up to 100 km/h were forecast in the Greater Toronto Area as a line of strong thunderstorms passed through on Wednesday after 5 p.m.
The City of Mississauga said high winds and rain caused some damage across this city on Wednesday evening.
Residents can report downed trees, blocked roadways/sidewalks or safety hazards to the after-hours dispatch at 905-615-3000.
