A busy Mississauga road has been completely shut down to traffic due to a large sinkhole that stopped cars in their tracks this morning (March 3).
Peel Regional Police say the sinkhole, in which the road collapses into itself and essentially disappears, is located on Matheson Blvd. E. at Explorer Dr.
The “dangerous condition” call was received just after 8 a.m.
City of Mississauga workers are on the scene as are other emergency crews.
Matheson Blvd. has been closed to traffic in both directions until further notice, police say.
