Large police presence on the scene at a Mississauga home

Police are asking people to avoid the area of an east Mississauga home as multiple officers are on the scene negotiating with a person in crisis late Tuesday afternoon.

Peel Regional Police said the person in question is “contained within a residential unit” on Scottsburg Crescent, just north of Burnhamthorpe Road East and west of Dixie Road. 

Police said the call was received at around 1 p.m. and a “large police presence” remained on the scene at 5 p.m.

No other details were provided by Peel police.
