Large police presence in Brampton as investigation underway

There is a large police presence working on an investigation in Brampton.

Peel Regional Police said they were on the scene near Nanwood Dr. and Main St. in central Brampton. The north side of Main St. is home to a commercial district, while the south side hosts Joyce Archdekin Park.

Police have not commented on the nature of their investigation or what has drawn them to the scene. They shared only that they received a 911 call at 3:23 p.m. on Apr. 3.

Witnesses report the area behind the local Shopper’s Drug Mart has been roped off and several officers are investigating the surroundings. A police helicopter has been reportedly seen in the area.

Police stressed there is currently no threat to public safety.
