Large grass fire threatens nearby farmhouse in Waterdown

Multiple fire departments are currently battling a large grass fire that is spreading in Waterdown.
Reports say the Burlington Fire Department along with the Hamilton Fire Department are presently working to contain a grass fire in the area of Mountain Brow Rd. and Great Falls Blvd. outside of Waterdown.
The fire is said to be covering an area of over 1,000 square feet.
Mountain Brow Rd. meets Great Falls Blvd. at a roundabout in a residential area but the adjacent field and wooded area holds potential for carrying a fire.
Firefighters are attempting to control wind gusts as they prevent the fire from getting close to a nearby vacant farmhouse and accompanying out buildings.
Residents and motorists are encouraged to avoid the area until crews have cleared the scene.
