Burlington Hydro crews continue to try to restore power to an area of Burlington along Dundas St.

Power first went off for much of northwest Burlington around noon, and over the next hour it was slowly restored in some areas.

However, according to a Burlington Hydro tweet, customers along Dundas St., between Guelph Line and Appleby Line, including the Alton community, are still without power.

There has been major damage to a primary overhead switch and crews are still trying to assess the extent of the damage. There is no estimate for when power will be restored.
