Language classes available for newcomers in Milton, Burlington, Oakville

An open house is being held for newcomers to Canada in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills who want to learn more about working on their language skills.

The Thomas Merton Centre for Adult & Continuing Education is hosting the event at its Milton location for newcomers and immigrants to Canada who are interested in the Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada program.

Participants can get information and register, at no cost, for English as a Second Language or French as a Second Language classes from beginner to advanced levels. The classes are available in both in-person and online format.

Thomas Merton staff will be available to provide a tour of the modern and engaging Childcare Centre for families with permanent status or Canada-Ukraine authorization for emergency travel (CUAET).

The open house is being held Thursday, May 16, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Thomas Merton Adult and Continuing Education Centre, 2800 High Point Dr. in Milton.

The Thomas Merton Centre for Adult & Continuing Education offers a variety of programs for students and adult learners across Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville, serving more than 10,000 students each year.

The Thomas Merton Centre offers full credit courses for secondary students, academic upgrading, newcomers, language instruction and skills programs.
